The Recurate team is constantly expanding as we build out our expertise in launching and growing resale programs. Each of us brings experience in an array of industries from resale to sustainability to retail. Our team members form integral parts of a system designed to make integrating a resale channel as easy as possible for our brand partners. In our new Get To Know series, we’ll be chatting to Recurate employees about how their professional journeys led them to join the team shaping the future of recommerce.

Leslie has specialized in operations and product implementation within luxury and fine art marketplaces, and has helped grow the global online auction businesses at Sotheby’s and Artsy.
  1. Tell us a bit about your professional journey?
My professional journey started at Sotheby’s auction house where I discovered my knack for operations and project management. Working on Sotheby’s first online auctions brought me to Artsy, a fine art marketplace, where I oversaw enablement and operations for their global online auctions business. I loved onboarding and empowering our auction partners and knew that I wanted to bring my expertise to an early stage startup focused on sustainability.
  2. Why were you interested in working at Recurate?
I discovered Recurate through our very own VP of Partnerships, Karin Dillie! Karin and I worked together at Sotheby’s early on in our careers and when I saw the great work that she was doing at Recurate, I had to learn more. Once I knew more about Recurate’s vision, value prop, and potential to create a more circular economy, I had to be a part of it!
  3. What do you enjoy about your role at Recurate?
I love working closely with our brand partners. I’m their main point of contact from kickoff to the launch of their new resale channel. My favorite part about my role is building relationships with our brands and ensuring that they have the tools and resources needed to enjoy the implementation process, and ultimately love their new resale channel.
  4. What excites you most about resale?
More than two-thirds of Americans consider sustainability when making a purchase! It feels like a critical moment for individuals and businesses alike to fully buy into the potential around resale and I am so excited to continue to help make that possible on a global scale.
  5. What is your favorite secondhand buy?
A La Ligne dress that was no longer available on their site. I’m a huge fan and found a dress secondhand for a wedding in Vermont this past summer. (My husband, Walter also loves his (not pictured) secondhand Orvis briefcase).
